THE CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR RAW: RESIDENCIES ARCHÉ→WORK 2024 IS NOW CLOSED
RAW: Residencies Arché→Work is a training and artistic development program organized between Arché and Márgenes. Madrid International Film Festival (Spain).
It aims at providing a working space free from immediate financial and logistical objectives, while directly focusing on the creative process in terms of directing and production.
It also aims to foster the proximity between film production and film criticism and research, thus being divided into two different strands: the Creation Residencies and Film Criticism and Research Residencies.
A total of six projects will be selected, 3 for each residency.
The program is open exclusively to candidates from Latin America, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
The working languages are Spanish, Portuguese and/or English.
DATES
Activities will take place according to the following calendar:
25 October - 25 November: Artistic Residencies (Lisbon)
26 - 30 November: MÁRGENES/WORK (in the framework of the Festival Márgenes, Madrid)
PROGRAM
During Arché, the Creation residents participate in project development workshops and other Nebulae (industry-oriented project and networking space at Doclisboa) activities. The tutors of the Criticism and Research Workshop will head the projects carried out by the RAW participants.
The artistic residency in Lisbon is conceived as a moment for deepen the reflection and work, away from the intense days of Doclisboa and Márgenes festivals. Participants continue to develop their projects with the tutors and to work on the presentation of Arché Talks.
During MÁRGENES/WORK, Creation residents attend the workshops, experts consulting sessions and all other activities of the programme. Criticism residents attend the second part of the Criticism and Research Workshop with the tutors and the creation of a podcast to be delivered at the end of the Residency.
Participants will also have access to the Doclisboa and Márgenes festivals program, attending screenings and other activities.
SUBMISSIONS
Calls for projects are open from April 22nd to May 19th 2024 (23:59 GMT+1).
Applicants must read and agree with the
RAW Regulations.
Submission is free of charge.
CREATION RESIDENCIES
- Project Dossier (max. 8 pages) in pdf format, that includes the following information in Portuguese, Spanish or English:
- Film Title;
- Sinopsis;
- Director’s intentions note;
- Director’s notes with references to the formal and visual treatment;
- Director’s bio-filmography
- Producer’s and screenwriter’s bio-filmography (if applicable);
- Bio-filmography of the production company (if applicable);
- Link to the work-in-progess or rushes (if applicable);
- Former films’ links (if applicable);
- Provisional budget and financial plan;
- Estimated working calendar;
- Notes on the current state of development and project’s current needs;Project stills or visual references.
- Motivation letter (for the participation in RAW).
- Copy of identity card or passport.
CRITICISM RESIDENCIES
- Academic and professional curriculum vitae.
- Description of the project to be developed in RAW, whose object of study is related to non-fiction film.
- Former research/film criticism work and/or articles (if applicable).
- Estimated working calendar.
- Motivation letter (for the participation in RAW, specifying the importance of this programme to the development of the project).
- Copy of identity card or passport.
