LIVE AV + DJ SET
LIVE AV
Friday November 22 ~ 19:00 ~ Reina Sofía Museum
Free admission until full capacity is reached.
Available from 10:00 a.m. on 20 November.
Swiss-French composer and sound artist Noémi Büchi presents in Madrid the LIVE A/V Does It Still Matter, an immersive multimedia work that explores the intersection between sound, visuals and human emotions in an era dominated by technology and virtuality. In this live performance, Büchi's sonic structures and aesthetic choices question the state of materiality in an increasingly fluid and intangible world, proposing a new avant-garde that "isn’t about creating something that doesn’t yet exist, it’s about abandoning and confusing rigid genres". Büchi’s electronic maximalism questions our linear perception of time, offering a glimpse into a world where the past, present, and future converge into a singular moment. Placing the physicality of music in the center of the attention, the artist juxtaposes multi-layered analog synthesizer textures, crystal clear sounds and almost brutalistic noises, while they unfold in compositional structures akin to pop songs. Driven by an orchestra of myriad parts, her music creates transcendent intonations that resonate deeply with the listeners’ bodies. An immersive experience that invites us to contemplate the impermanence of our world and the enduring power of sound.

DJ SET
Mexican artist Alv_Adina will be opening this clubbing night. A producer, performer, and DJ, her work is deeply intertwined with the body and the sensoriality of dance, transforming the dance floor into a sanctuary. Next, Galician artist Akazie, a post-club explorer, will take over with a set that seamlessly blurs the boundaries between the experimental and the warm. To close, the young Egyptian producer Jehia, leaning towards techno and breakbeat, will deliver a set that fuses intense rhythms with intricate melodies, creating a sonic universe where darkness and vibrant energy coexist. The remarkable ability of these three artists to navigate emotional contrasts promises an immersive and profoundly evocative experience.
