Invasión pequeña
Spain / 2024 / 60'
Plot
If anyone receives this signal, at least they'll know it's me, and this is what I do..." Perhaps that was his intention before all his videos were censored and his account was shut down. Invasión Pequeña is a sci-fi tale about inhabiting other life forms and the fundamental right to be dysfunctional. Somewhere between ethnographic first-person documentary, Grand Theft Auto, and the mundane reality of an apocalyptic world, this is the survival diary of someone trying, in vain, to communicate—whoever may be on the other side.

Miguel Ángel Blanca is director, screenwriter and producer at Boogaloo Films. His work dances halfway between double lives and everyday darkness, always hybridizing formats, between documentary and fiction, between tragedy and infinite jokes. In 2014 he directed the musical documentary Un lloc on caure mort and in 2015 La Extranjera, a science fiction documentary about the touristification in the city of Barcelona. With Quiero lo Eterno (2017) and Corre Brilla Luz Luz (2018), he makes two fables about adolescent nihilism and the fantasy of the end of the world. His latest feature film, Magaluf Ghost Town is a costumbrist horror piece about tourism and its representation in the collective imaginary. In 2022 he premieres as director and co-writer of the controversial series Autodefensa.
